Temporarily Closed - Normally Christmas comes and goes, but not in the home of Jebidiah Krinklemeijer, puzzle-maker extreme. Here the holidays can last as long as it takes for his grandchildren to solve the puzzles he so carefully crafts. Mr. Krinklemeijer has been known to go a bit overboard in the games of his making, ensnaring his young visitors in an avalanche of puzzles meant to confound. Sometimes they become so hopelessly lost in the myriad of games that they throw their hands up in despair. Mr. Krinklemeijer finds this to be quite amusing. He hopes to challenge, befuddle, and otherwise perplex the little merrymakers and knows that their problem solving skills will improve with time and practice. In truth, all of his puzzles can be solved quite easily with concentrated organization. They require keen observational skills and the ability to correlate and associate like-things. Nothing more. In the current case, the challenge is as simple as pumpkin pie. All they have to do is light the Christmas star. Maybe you can help? Once you have done this, you can celebrate a job well done and then go on your merry way. Until then, like the poor Krinklemeijer grandchildren, you will play, and play, and play.

It takes you all day to get directions and now that night has fallen, you only make out the cabin by the cracks that shine through her fencing from your headlights. You peak through a broken window pane to see red marks down at the end of the hall. Calling out, there is no answer. Did someone break into the cabin? Is that slashes of blood on the wall? What happened to Nana Hannah?

Cross Country Treasure Hunt [Outdoor]

This set of clues will take you far and wide, way beyond the scope of the Stratton Escape Room and into the greater landscape. We have a variety of games and levels, all appropriate to families but with varying levels of difficulty. You will be given the first clue upon registration and the rest is up to you. We have hidden clues within a 25 mile radius of our home base and you can find them in a linear order. We have several levels of CROSS COUNTRY TREASURE HUNT GAMES, organized by physical intensity; level one being the easiest and level three the most demanding. Level one games are mentally challenging but easily accessible by car or over relatively flat walking surfaces. Level two games have clues in more distant locations requiring some hiking, biking, or even boating to access. The level three games are the most challenging both physically and mentally, often requiring multi-day excursions across land and water. Play all at your own risk.

New England, the year is 1992. The Whitby family was one of the wealthiest families in New England during the 1900’s. The Whitby Mansion (with over 90 bedrooms), was built for James and Edith Whitby. Legend has it, James (the Lord of the manor) went mad and murdered his entire family. After their death, the Whitby Mansion was sold at auction, it was then re-named and turned into the luxurious Laughton Hotel. There have been more supernatural events witnessed in this hotel than anywhere else on earth - with stories that will make your hair stand on end. Due to the unexplained deaths and unusual occurrences, the Laughton Hotel was eventually shuttered in 1992 – and unfortunately, detectives and paranormal investigators who have tried to explore the old mansion for evidence, were never seen again. Locals say that any living thing caught in the hotel at the stroke of midnight will become part of the spirit world forever... but your curiosity got the best of you. Your goal is to find proof that paranormal activity exists; and if you’re lucky, crack the unsolved mystery of Edith Whitby’s disappearance, whose body has never been found…

The game is good for young and old but better when there is at least one adult in the mix. If you choose to take the challenge, there are a few things to remember. Number one, part of the game is being secretive. Don’t let anyone see what you are doing or where you are going. This is a “Secret Society” remember.
