Temporarily Closed - Several years ago, several members of the Knights of Columbus wanted to create an attraction for everyone to enjoy. All the men had a passion for all things spooky and a love for making people laugh. They eventually fell upon the idea of creating a Haunted Forest that would entertain people and bring them joy. The question was, “Where can we find such a location for a haunted forest?” Luckily, behind the building of their hall was an acre of land not being used. This was the perfect location for their Haunted Forest, and they knew that they had to make the haunted forest become a reality. That first year, the men began creating fake ghosts and comical monsters that would jump out at visitors and silly zombies that would pop up at every turn. In that first year, all volunteers were nervously welcoming the first visitors. Not knowing if their haunted forest would be a success. As the visitors walked through the forest, they were met with a series of spooky surprises, but instead of being scared, they laughed and had an exciting time. Since that first year of starting the haunted forest, the word about a new haunt in northwest Indiana began to spread and the haunted forest soon became one of the most popular attractions in Cedar Lake. We began seeing visitors from the surrounding cities such as St. John, Lowell, Crown Point, and Munster. They loved the interactive elements and the fact that they could have a good laugh while being scared. Each year, the men try to create innovative ideas for the haunted forest so that you will not experience the same scare each season. All of us at the Haunted Forest are proud to have brought joy and laughter to so many people and cannot wait to see you at our beloved forest.
