Mrs. B's Box Mrs. B's Box

Legend has it that a family friend, Mrs. B had an old decrepit black treasure chest. The children of Hollis called it Mrs. B’s Box. When Mrs. B died a gruesome death in the laundry room of the home, they felt it was necessary to find the truth of what had killed her. The 3 children crept into the gloomy basement of their grandmothers old, distressed home. Creaking steps, dark foggy air and the light switch didn’t work. But they were too curious as to what was in that black treasure chest. “I bet it’s money,” said the boy. “I bet it’s golden jewels and gems,” said the girl. The oldest laughed and said, “I bet it’s a dead BODY!“ As the younger two screamed, the oldest touched the chest. It began to rattle. They all leaped back. The middle child was brave and flung it wide open. To their surprise, all that was inside was a girl doll and a toy rotary phone. They all laughed, went upstairs and started to play with the toys. Being mischievous kids, they cut the dolls hair until it was bald, scribbled with marker all over her face and took out her stuffing. The boy screamed “let’s throw her in the pot!” They all agreed and took the toys outside to the monumental statue that has a pot at the top, which still stands from centuries ago. After three attempts, the boy was able to successfully get the doll and the phone into the pot. "Yes!" they cheered! Not a moment passed when suddenly 6 fire truck sirens were blasting and tires came screeching to a halt in front of their very own eyes. Firefighters came rushing to the children. “Where’s the fire, where’s the fire?” They screamed, shaking the children’s shoulders, checking for burns. “There is no fire,” said the oldest, visibly shaking and scared. “A little girl called and said there was a fire, you better not be pranking us!” said the fireman. “We aren’t Mr. fireman, we aren’t,” said the boy, crying. It was that moment, we instantly knew the doll had used the toy phone to call FDNY. When the fire department left, the young boy climbed the tree to get the doll out of the pot. It was EMPTY. Just dirt and leaves. The thing is, they were very mischievous that day. Right before going into the basement, they had been playing with fire in the attic. A piece of paper caught fire and they panicked, fearing it was going to burn down the entire house. They felt extremely guilty and really sad for what they did. The doll had played on their biggest fear that day and had gotten her revenge. Till this day, there are creeping sounds as if someone is walking up the stairs and small giggling and whispers of a young girl in the basement. Years later, the story was told in a reenactment. The video below shows what happened.

Desoto Asylum Desoto Asylum

Temporarily Closed - Even small towns need medical services, so a hospital for the mentally insane wasn’t unusual. Desoto Asylum was typical—nurses administered medicine and restrained patients if they became agitated or dangerous. A doctor was in charge of treating patients and determining when—or if—they could ever return to society. According to a registration log uncovered years after the catastrophe, there were 23 patients admitted at Desoto Asylum and a staff of 8. Under normal circumstances, nothing ever went wrong. Desoto Asylum Logo But, in the fall of 1966 residents of Needles began to go missing. Their mangled bodies found by authorities inside Desoto Asylum. Unable to figure out how the patients were escaping the residents panicked and boarded up Desoto Asylum with all the patients and staff still inside, the strong brick structure acting as a prison. In the weeks that followed, things began to change inside Desoto Asylum. The doctors and nurses ignored the patients in their frantic attempt to save themselves. Atticus Ravenswood was one of the higher-functioning patients, who’d been committed to Desoto Asylum in 1964 after killing his family with a pitchfork and using their dead bodies for experiments involving electrical cords and blue cheese dressing. When Atticus was no longer subdued by debilitating amounts of brain-numbing sedatives, he overheard the staff planning to escape and leave the patients to die. Unrestricted by the bounds of human decency, Atticus unleashed years of pent-up rage against the frightened staff and began committing revolting horrors on their live bodies. With the help of other patients, Atticus turned the tables on the former nurses and doctors, drugged them, and subjected them to his own twisted and painful experiments. Years passed before anyone escaped. Her name was Nurse Betty, and her story was found scribbled in the margins of a book. Most of the entries are smeared with blood. One of them reads: October, 1966. He is coming for us one by one, and I can hear them screaming from the padded cells, can smell the burning flesh each time the lights flicker. I know it is the electric chair. He calls it “shock therapy” but he and the girls are punishing us. I beg Tracy and Holly to remember how well I treated them as patients, but now as Atticus’s nurses, they are brainwashed to enjoy his dreadful experiments. I’m afraid to guess what he’s doing with the dead bodies this time.

Terror In The Corn Terror In The Corn

Temporarily Closed - October 31, 1851. East Bridge, New York. Twin siblings, Charles and Mildred Wells, were born… or rather… unleashed into this world. They were beautiful children… on the outside. Inside a playful desire to torture and maim festered and grew. Their childhood was rather uneventful or so one would believe. Coincidentally, around the same time, items in the town began to go missing. First it was simply small valuables and then beloved pets. But it was when their children started disappearing the frightened townsfolk finally took notice. Rumors began to spread throughout East Bridge that the Wells were somehow to blame. However, no proof could be found. After the death of their mother, Charles and Mildred were trained by their father, a mortician, to take over the family business. This however, only lasted a short while. The twins abruptly left East Bridge after their father died under… ‘suspicious circumstances’. It was 1875 when the twins arrived in Ravens Gulch, just outside of Erie. Back then, it was a booming coal mining town with a large transient population of coal miners. Saloons and businesses sprung up along Briggs and Kattell streets catering to this thriving town and its inhabitants. It was here that Charles and Mildred set up The Wells Funeral Home which was followed a year later by The Wells Hotel. It was an immediate success, accommodating any weary traveler or local miner looking for a drink and a cheap room. So many people came and went through Ravens Gulch, it was easy for these two to carry out their macabre games of torture and death. They built a series of tunnels underneath the town and adjacent corn fields to allow them freedom of movement unseen. Here the twins would delight in stalking their prey through the corn, striking from the shadows and quickly retreating. They loved to toy with their hapless victims. A quick blade to the leg… another to the arm; like a symphony of terror they would slowly and methodically terrorize them until they collapsed broken both physically and mentally. The flood of 1890 revealed the tunnels that the Wells had used to carry out their mad games and an investigation was started. But before any formal charges could be filed, the twins disappeared into the night. It was believed they had run off, perhaps to set up shop elsewhere. However, considering what happened in the years after their disappearance, one has to wonder. Slowly, the town’s population began to dwindle. Some folks left of their own accord… others, well… no one knows for sure. There was still an evil presence hanging over the town and no one wanted to stay. By the turn of the century, nearly ten years after their disappearance, all that was left was a ghost town. Or so it seemed. The Wells still play their games on those who are foolhardy enough to wander into Raven's Gulch. Their power has not lessened. However, in more recent times it has been...challenged. The evil that has continued to fester in the town has attracted something new. Something...hungry.

Hellscream Haunted House Hellscream Haunted House

Closing November 9 - A year has past since the fateful day of the circus train crash that took so many lives. Time, it seems, has given rise to more questions than answers regarding the true nature of this horrific collision. Initial reports led us to believe that a toxic waste truck, which caused the train to derail, simply veered off the road due to negligence. New developments in the case paint a much more sinister picture. A warrant for the arrest of Jack Slaughter (the surviving owner of the Slaughter Brothers Circus) has been issues by authorities, but the details have been suppressed. Could he have masterminded the catastrophe for his own sadistic gains? Speculation aside, he was last seen evading capture with his band of murderous clowns by fleeing into the festering sewers and torturous catacombs beneath the now infamous Von Helton Manor. More sensational than Jacks story, however, is Dr. Von Helton himself. Presumed dead due to a corpse found in the crash wreckage, the doctor miraculously survived! As a person of interest he has been placed on house arrest; legally unable to leave the property of his home and site of the accident. He has been living outside the manor for the last year and refuses to enter, by his own words, until my manor is restored to its former glory. Indeed Von Helton Manor has seen many changes. Those brave enough to enter (and lucky enough to escape) have claimed that the spirits of those who perished in the train crash have found a new home by possessing and haunting the main guest level. Regardless of these allegations, the top floor of the manor has been allocated to decontamination and research by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and various officials. Survivors exposed to the toxic waste, human and animal alike, have been moved to this floor rather than off site for examination as attempts to remove them from the building have been met with violence and death. With all of this happening in his home, the not-so-good doctor waits patiently outside with a mysterious group of red-cloaked individuals he simply refers to as friends. This year he is opening his doors to adventure and thrill seekers in an effort to raise funds to repair his family home and evict its current tenants.
